MA Film and Media Studies

You will study

This programme provides the opportunity to investigate contemporaneous and historical narratives and conceptual practices in film and or media platforms and knowledge.  You will examine the practices that organise the materials of film and media through academic, popular and underground methodologies to explore what types of narratives and concepts are produced. This is a research intensive programme that offers a theoretical support for all types of creative projects in the film & media arenas.

The course is part of the Media LAB, where filmmaking, film & media studies, photography and media arts students work on professional projects in collaboration with an extensive, regional network of cultural and media organisations.

Entry Requirements

Honours Degree in a related discipline or a postgraduate diploma or professional qualification recognised as being equivalent to an honours degree. Other qualifications or experience may be acceptable if you demonstrate appropriate knowledge and skills at honours degree standard. Showreel of audio visual work, plus portfolio of related work.

Fees

UK and EU students full-time £4,500

UK and EU students part-time £250 per 10 credit unit.  A Masters qualification typically comprises 180 credits.

Non-EU overseas students £12,500
